This one starts with coaching

The Saddle Up Team is a new coaching-led race collective launching in 2025. It is for riders who want to train with purpose, race well, and be part of a group doing the same.

The team is built around coached riders. That remains the foundation. But it will also include others who align with the team’s values and approach, even if they are not currently coached.

This is not a marketing project. It is not built on kit deals, content, or reach. It is not about numbers on the start line. It is about shared intent and consistent effort.

The team will support seniors, juniors, and youth riders across a range of goals — including road races, criteriums, time trials, sportives, and selected international events.

Some will race to win. Some will race to learn. Some will ride long for the challenge. The common ground is commitment.

The focus is simple. Coaching-led progress. Purposeful racing. A team built around effort, not image.

Who is it for?

  • Senior riders working with Saddle Up Coaching, or looking to start.

  • Youth and junior riders already supported, or who want to be.

  • Riders who want to improve, show up well, and belong to something.

  • People who value structure, community, and having a place on race day.

This is not for everyone. It is for those who train with intent and want to be part of a team built on purpose, not profile.

What do riders get?

Team identity
Access to custom kit is available to team riders, usually including a jersey and shorts at cost. The priority is showing up ready and looking like a team when it matters.

Race day support
Support where possible from Frequency Cycleworks. Plus shared planning, advice, and a presence of other committed riders at key events.

A coaching-led environment
The team is built around coached riders and others who share the same values. The coaching comes first. The team is the outcome of that process.

Connection
Training with intent. Racing with purpose. Backing each other up. Being part of something on race day.

Affiliated racing
The team is affiliated with British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials.

What do we ask from you?

  • Take yourself seriously
Turn up. Train properly. Invest in your process.

  • Be decent
No ego. No drama. Be someone others want to ride with.

  • Represent well
Wear the kit with respect. Represent Saddle Up and Frequency properly on and off the bike.

  • Race properly
Race hard. Race clean. Prepare well and compete with purpose.

  • This is not a free ride.

  • This is not a handout.

  • This is a framework for people who want to get better — and be part of something along the way.

Seniors

Most senior riders on the team are coaching clients. That remains the core.

But the team is open to other riders who train with intent and align with the same standards. Coaching is the starting point for most, but not the only route in.

This is not a kit club. It is not a handout. It is a team built around preparation, consistency, and being ready on race day.

Juniors

Youths

Supporting younger riders will always matter here.

Where possible, we offer coaching, advice, and event-day help — often for free — to help youth and junior riders train properly, race smart, and learn good habits early.

→ Youth and junior riders we already support.
→ Or want to support more.
