Saddle Up Frequency
Rider Agreement
This agreement sets out what Saddle Up Frequency provides to riders and what we expect in return. By joining the team, you agree to follow these terms.
1. Purpose
Saddle Up Frequency exists to help riders train with intent, race with purpose, and improve together. This is a development-focused team for riders of all levels — returning, new to the sport, or experienced. The goal is progress, consistency, and shared learning, not just results.
2. Membership
Membership is free — there are no yearly or joining fees.
The team is run by Matt (Saddle Up Coaching) and supported by Ev (Frequency Cycle Works).
Membership may be reviewed or withdrawn where behaviour, participation, or conduct falls below agreed standards.
3. What the Team Provides
Riders benefit from:
Weekly training focus and session of the week to keep riding purposeful
Group rides and skills sessions to build confidence and race craft
Target event coordination so you have teammates on the line and a shared race calendar
Post-race debriefs and seasonal reviews to reflect, learn, and improve
TrainingPeaks connection for light feedback on trends and consistency
Mechanical support from Frequency Cycle Works, with discounted parts and servicing where possible
Custom kit from NoPinz available year-round with no minimum order
Team affiliation with British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials so you can race under the Saddle Up Frequency name
Race-day presence where possible — shared planning and support so you are not lining up alone
4. Development Pathway
The team supports riders at all levels: returning riders, first-time racers, and experienced competitors.
The goal is progression: from attending rides, to racing, to racing regularly and racing well.
Riders are encouraged to set seasonal and long-term goals to track development.
5. Participation & Consistency
Riders are expected to participate regularly in training, events, and team rides.
Target events will be shared so riders have teammates on the line and shared focus.
Riders should enter events in good time, confirm attendance, and communicate if they cannot take part.
Consistency matters — repeated no-shows or long periods of inactivity may result in review of membership.
6. Conduct & Representation
Riders must ride safely, respectfully, and within the rules of the road and competition.
Wearing the kit means representing Saddle Up Frequency, Saddle Up Coaching, and Frequency Cycle Works positively at all times.
Abuse, discrimination, harassment, or unsafe riding will not be tolerated.
7. Mentoring & Support
Experienced riders are encouraged to support and mentor newer riders where possible.
Riders are expected to share learning, take part in debriefs, and help raise the level of the group.
8. Coaching & Support Boundaries
Self-coached riders receive the benefits listed above.
Coached riders receive individual plan design, ongoing review, and direct coach contact under a separate coaching agreement.
No plan design, one-to-one training adjustments, or detailed data analysis are included unless on a coaching plan.
9. Equipment & Safety
Riders are responsible for keeping their bikes and equipment safe and roadworthy.
Helmets are mandatory on all rides and events.
Bikes and kit should be presented clean and in good condition at events.
10. Events & Race Expectations
Riders are encouraged to race under the team name wherever possible.
Riders should aim to participate in a minimum number of target events each season (agreed at the start of the year).
Riders must race safely and fairly, following British Cycling, CTT, and event organiser rules.
11. Communication
The team uses WhatsApp, email, or similar platforms for announcements, rides, and event planning.
Riders are expected to stay engaged, read updates, and respond to confirm attendance when asked.
12. Media & Image Use
Riders consent to team photos, videos, race results, and reports being used on Saddle Up’s website, social media, and promotional materials.
Riders may request removal of images if needed for personal reasons.
13. Health & Liability
Riders confirm they are medically fit to train and race.
Riders accept personal responsibility for their safety and risk during rides, races, and training.
Saddle Up and Frequency are not liable for injury, damage, or loss sustained during training, racing, or team activities.
Riders are encouraged to hold third-party liability insurance (e.g. through British Cycling membership).
14. Anti-Doping & Integrity
Riders must comply with anti-doping regulations.
Any rider found in breach of anti-doping rules will be removed from the team immediately.
15. Dispute Resolution
Concerns or disputes should first be raised with Matt (Saddle Up Coaching).
Reviews will be conducted with Matt and Ev where necessary.
The decision on membership or disciplinary action is final.
16. Leaving the Team & Kit Use
Riders leaving the team may keep purchased kit but must not represent the team at events after leaving.
No refunds are provided for kit or event entries if leaving mid-season.
17. Annual Review
This agreement is reviewed annually to reflect the team’s goals, standards, and structure.
Riders may be asked to renew their agreement each season to confirm continued commitment.
